Privacy Policy

At ShowMuse, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our application.

Information We Collect

We collect the most minimal information possible, and only when that data is provided to us when you register for an account, create or modify your profile, set preferences, or make a purchase.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, including to:

  • Process transactions and send related information
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, concerns, and requests

Do You Sell Our Data

No.

Google User Data and YouTube API Services

ShowMuse uses YouTube API Services to publish your episodes to your own YouTube channel. Connecting a channel also means agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy covers what Google does with your data on their side.

What we ask Google for. Two permissions, requested together when you connect a channel: permission to upload videos to that channel, and permission to manage its content and see its statistics. Google shows you the full list before you agree to anything.

What we store. Your channel's ID and name, and the access and refresh tokens Google issues. Nothing else from your Google account: not your email address, not your contacts, not your other Google services, and nothing at all from channels you did not connect.

What we do with it. Upload the episodes and clips you tell us to publish, set their titles, descriptions, thumbnails, privacy setting and playlist, and read back view, like and comment counts so we can show them to you in ShowMuse. All of it happens because you asked for it, on your show, to your channel. We never post to your channel on our own initiative.

Who else sees it. Nobody. We do not sell it, share it, or pass it to any other company, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not run ads at all.

How long we keep it. Until you disconnect the channel or close your account. Either one deletes the tokens and the channel details.

How to take it back. Two ways, and either is enough on its own: disconnect the channel inside ShowMuse, or remove ShowMuse's access from your Google account at Google's security settings page.

Questions about any of this: brian@showmuse.com.

Connected Social Accounts

ShowMuse can publish your posts to social platforms you choose to connect, such as Facebook Pages, Instagram, and Threads. Every connection works the same way: the platform shows you exactly what you are granting before you agree, and ShowMuse only ever acts on the accounts you connected.

What we store. The permission the platform issues when you approve the connection, and the name and ID of the page, profile or account you connected, so we can show you where a post is going. Nothing else: not your password, not your followers, not your messages, and nothing from accounts you did not connect.

What we do with it. Publish the posts you write or approve, to the accounts you chose, at the times you set, and read back the post's link so we can show you it went live. We never post on our own initiative, and we never read your feed.

Who else sees it. Nobody. We do not sell it, share it, or pass it to any other company, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not run ads at all.

How long we keep it. Until you disconnect the account. Deleting the connection on your show's Social Media tab removes the stored permission and the account details on the spot. If you close your ShowMuse account, we delete them as part of closing it.

How to take it back. Two ways, and either is enough on its own: disconnect the account on your show's Social Media tab, or revoke ShowMuse's access in the platform's own settings (on Facebook, Instagram and Threads, that is Settings, then Apps and Websites). If you want confirmation that everything is gone, email brian@showmuse.com and we will delete it and say so.

Cookies and Local Storage

When you sign in, your session is kept in your browser's local storage on your own machine, which is why clearing your browser data signs you out.

One cookie on this site comes from the monitoring vendor we use for reporting. It tells us when a page is slow or fails, recording page load times, errors, and how long our own API calls take, and the cookie lets those measurements be recognised as coming from the same visit. If you are signed in, your ShowMuse account ID is recorded with the session, so a problem you report can be traced back to what actually happened. We use this for performance and reliability, nothing else.

We do not run ads. There is no advertising cookie on this site to opt out of.

Data Security

We have implemented technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information. Should those measures be breached at any point, we will inform you with the details as soon as possible.
